The data controllers must notify the actual persons whose personal data they process about specific issues, as stated in Article 10 of the Law regulating the Clarification Obligation, thus we would like to inform you about our personal data processing method. About the Data Controller Istanbul Gelisim University (hereinafter referred to as "GELISIM") is in charge of processing personal data about you in accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (hereinafter referred to as the "PDP Law"). Your Personal Data to be Processed International Students Directorate: Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree Student Application and Admission Process Identity Data (Name/Surname, Date/Place of Birth, Gender, Passport Number, Passport Information, Nationality) Education Data (High School Information, Graduation Grade, Date of Graduation, Faculty Information, Diploma Information, Transcript Information, Language Examination Qualification Letter, Letter of Acceptance) Contact Data (Address Information, Mobile Phone Number, Home/Business Phone Number, E-mail Address) Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, and Master's Degree Students Final Admission Process Identity Data (Passport Information) Education Data (High School Diploma Information, Transcript Information, Equivalence Certificate Information) Finance Data (Pre-Registration Receipt/First Installment Payment Receipt) Visual and Auditory Data (Photo) Health Data (Health Report) Purposes of Processing Your Personal Data Receiving and assessing your personal data, associate's, undergraduate, and graduate applications, and applications from international students; Collecting and submitting the required paperwork for a visa and a residence permit; Drafting and submitting a letter of the institution that the student must submit on their own behalf to the appropriate consulate; Drafting and delivering the acceptance letter; Conducting guidance processes; Establishing channels of communication with students and informing/announcing them; Ensuring the fulfillment and storage of the rights and obligations of the students enrolled in the university's relevant academic unit or departments; Ensuring that obligations are fulfilled legally and taking the necessary action; including the safeguarding of the lives and property of all university stakeholders or adherence to the laws applicable to this situation; The attainment of these goals by taking legal action, recording user internet access traces/logs collected through systems like the student information system (OBIS) and the www.gelisim.edu.tr website and transferring them to information processing infrastructures for the completion of these goals, fulfilling and archiving legal obligations in electronic or physical environments; taking demands from students, assessing and excluding them from classes they have already taken in another higher education institution; Informing family members in case of emergency; Promoting our university at international fairs; Sending commercial electronic messages for promotional and marketing purposes via e-mail, etc.; Your personal information will be processed during the program or event for the purpose of photographing and filming you for use in promoting our university's events on the www.gelisim.edu.tr website, and the university's servers will be used to publish content on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube from global social media accounts. Transfer of Your Personal Data As an illustration of the transfer of personal data, the information may be kept on a domestic server for archival purposes, used to support a civil or criminal lawsuit, or used to support an administrative or criminal investigation stemming from a disagreement involving pertinent educational activities. In this context, if requested, we may transfer your personal data to public institutions specified in the laws (Ministries and Presidency boards, public institutions and organizations, including but not limited to YOK (CHE) within the purposes and limitations stipulated by the law. We would like to underline that we take reasonable administrative and technical steps to safeguard the security and confidentiality of personal data while carrying out the relevant processing and transfer activities.
